Minor in History
The History Department offers a minor in History. We are pleased to announce that, starting Fall 2016, the minor will require 18 hours of History coursework. The new flexible requirements are outlined below. Minor requirements as of Fall 2016 (18 hours):
- 9 hours of core classes (HST 100-HST 250) and
- 9 hours of advanced classes (HST 300-400s). 3 hours of HST 251-HST 289 or HST 295, plus any number of HST 292 (trial course) credits, may be counted toward fulfillment of the 300-400 level requirement.
- Must include at least one core course covering the period before 1500 (HST 101, 205, or 207)
- An overall "C" (2.00) average in required in History courses applied toward the minor, and a grade of "C-" or better is required in each course applied toward the minor.
