Scholarship and Awards


The Department of History offers the following scholarships for undergraduate students:

J.E.L. Wade Scholarship
Mary Ellen A. Wheeler Scholarship
Bookstore Scholarship
United Daughters of the Confederacy Bookstore Scholarship

The Department awards the following prizes to selected graduating seniors each year:

Kallman Prize
      For the student with the highest grade point average among graduating students
Moseley Award
      For a strong history major with a special interest in U.S. History

The Department offers the following scholarships for graduate students:

Charles Green, Jr. Scholarship
Tyrone Rowell Scholarship
Susan G. Stern Scholarship

In conjunction with the Historical Society of the Lower Cape Fear the Department recognizes the student writing the best Master's thesis each year with the Diane Cashman Prize.
