I AM UNCW:
Theodore "Pete" Bloodworth
Theodore “Pete” Bloodworth started at UNCW as general utility worker in 2001. After more than 10 years, he was promoted to Warehouse Supervisor. A year later he attained his current position as Warehouse Services Manager.
Warehouse Services manages the university’s shipping and receiving needs, campus moving services, departmental storage, surplus property and campus recycling. In addition, warehouse staff assist with stage builds, table and chair deliveries to campus events and interdepartmental moves (rearranging furniture in offices or moving to new locations).
With literally so many moving parts, Bloodworth says prioritizing duties is a must. Scheduling is the biggest challenge because of the range of responsibilities he and his nine staff members have. “I must make the best decisions for my crew, the warehouse and recycling staff and the university as a whole.”
A “working manager,” Bloodworth is hands on in nearly every aspect of the warehouse and recycling. Outside of UNCW, he keeps his hands busy by working out at the Student Recreation Center. “I have been dedicated to it for the past six years,” he says.
