SUPPORTING CAMERON
Record-breaking year for individual and corporation support of the Cameron School of Business
During the 2007 fiscal year more than $500,000 was given to support the Cameron School of Business and its many program offerings. As state funding becomes a smaller part of the Cameron School’s budget, private support is critical to its continuing success.
Leading the way for the 2008 fiscal year was GE-Hitachi Nuclear which provided $50,000 to support the Cameron School’s computer day camp that helps area eight and ninth graders develop technical skills essential for their success in high school, college and beyond.

Progress Energy gave $35,000 to the CSB Center for Business and Economic Services. The gift will help the CBES continue producing economic impact studies at no cost to its clients. In addition, these funds will be used to expand the center’s economic database beyond the region to cover 34 counties in eastern North Carolina and, eventually, to contain information about all 100 counties in the state.
“Each gift the university receives, from $1 to $1 million or more, helps our faculty and staff to focus on providing all students with the highest quality learning experiences through excellence in teaching, scholarship, research, artistic achievement and service,” said Chancellor Rosemary DePaolo. “On behalf of the university, I gratefully thank our donors for their generosity.”
The success of the Cameron School of Business and many of its programs will depend largely on the philanthropic support it receives from private individuals and corporations. The phone-a-thon will continue this spring, so when you receive the call to support the Cameron School of Business, please consider making a gift to support your business school.
