Alexis Gonzalez, a student worker at the Technology Assistance Center (TAC) since 2010, was recently crowned Miss Greater Wilmington in the 2012 Miss Greater Wilmington Scholarship Pageant. Alexis, a senior at UNCW, is studying criminology and aspires to become a lawyer and ultimately a judge or government official. Her platform, "Developing Our Youth, Our Future," is focused on four key components: healthy living, high self-esteem, education and youth volunteerism.
Regarding her job at the TAC, Alexis notes, "Being a student worker at the TAC has been the best job I have ever had. I have the opportunity to help people with technology and answer any questions they may have. I am lucky to work with a wonderful group of people and to have a job in which I learn something new every day."
In June, Alexis will travel to Raleigh to compete in the Miss North Carolina Pageant.
