TAC Staff Info

Specifics:

  • The Technology Assistance Center (TAC) is the proud employer of around 30 part-time UNCW students who provide support services to our clients.
    • Each student works about 15 hours a week.
    • The TAC has various levels of student workers based on the completed training, experience level and leadership responsibilities.
    • As technology changes and students graduate, we are always training. We have a Blackboard course which provides the fundamentals for being a student worker in the TAC, and we have regular refresher seminars and team meetings.
  • The TAC staff handles the technology support requests from all 17,000 UNCW clients (about 15,000 students and 2,000 faculty/staff).
  • The TAC has phone support hours every day from 8 a.m. until midnight, which is 112 hours per week, almost 3 business weeks.
  • Check our TAC home page for current walk up support hours, but we are typically open:
    • 8 a.m. to midnight Monday through Thursday
    • 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday
    • noon to 6 p.m. Saturday
    • noon to midnight Sunday
