As a preliminary step towards the alignment and integration for planning within the Information Technology Systems Division, a committee structure connected to strategic points in the administrative process was implemented. These committees are comprised of representatives from across the university and participate in assessment and provide direct input to the division.

Forty-nine original university committees involved in some aspect of technology planning and management or assessment were collapsed into seven campus-wide committees in an effort to improve clarity, focus, cohesiveness in the process of information technology planning, budgeting and assessment.
