Welcome New Students--

Here is What You Need to Know to Get Started at UNCW

Whether you are a new student or a returning student, UNCW and ITSD would like to welcome you back and wish you luck.  Below you will find useful links to help you each semester.

E-mail Accounts:  E-mail accounts will be created within 7 working days after your intent to enroll has been received. A student's e-mail username will be his/her three initials followed by four random digits.  All students get 40Mb of e-mail space.  Click here for further information about e-mail accounts including how to find out your username and e-mail address as well as how to log into the university e-mail system. To check on the status of your e-mail address you can go to SeaPort.  

E-mail passwords expire every 90-days If you need to change your password Click here.  For instructions on how to change your password, Click here.

File Storage:  Students are entitled to 20Mb of file server space which will allow access to files on or off campus.  Click here for more details about "Timmy" - the student file server.

Student Web Pages:  Students have 20Mb of storage space for web pages.  Click here to find out how and where to post web pages.

Safe Computing:  Find out how to keep your computer as safe and secure as possible (for Macs and PCs) including how to download a FREE copy of Norton Antivirus.

Slow Computer/Pop-ups: Is your computer running slow?  Are you getting lots of pop-ups?  Click here to find out how to check your computer for spyware or malware.

Virus Issues:  If you have any questions about viruses, how to remove a virus from your computer or just suspect you may have a virus you can visit the UNCW Virus Web Page.
