SPAM

The Information Technology Systems Division (ITSD) aggressively rejects SPAM from being delivered to UNCW e-mail. If you wish to modify your SPAM settings, please review the instructions below.

Modify General SPAM Settings

  1. Go to http://spam.uncw.edu and type your UNCW e-mail username
  2. Select what you wish to do with your SPAM
~ Reject with a Notification to Sender - Sends a message back to the sender letting them know you did not receive the message as it was seen as SPAM by the system. It goes on to tell them if it is a valid message to resend it or contact you in another way.
~ Prepend ?*? on E-mail Subject - This will tag SPAM messages by placing ?*? before the subject and you will receive the messages in your mailbox.
  3. Select how aggressive or conservative you wish to be
~ Conservative - Low level. You will receive more SPAM in your mailbox
    ~ Normal - Medium level
~ Aggressive - High level. Aggressive will increase the number of messages the system considers SPAM and, based on your choice above, will either reject or "tag" more messages.
  4. Once you click on Update my SPAM settings, you will be asked to enter your password.  Enter your UNCW domain/e-mail password
  5. Click on the Click to Confirm button.  You will then receive a message stating your settings have been changed.

Always Allow or Block Messages from an Individual (or Domains)

  1. Go to http://spam.uncw.edu
  2. Click the link at the bottom: "Click here to add/delete an e-mail address from your junk e-mail lists."
  3. Enter your UNCW e-mail username and password
  4. Click the login button
  5. Click "Continue"
  6. Select either "Add an Address that will NEVER be identified as Junk E-mail " (this means you will always receive messages from the individual)
or "Add an address that will ALWAYS be identified as Junk E-mail" (this means you never receive messages from the individual)
  7. Enter the e-mail address or domain (an example of a domain would be: @dell.com)
  8. Click on the Add button

SPAM in a Mail-Enabled Public Folder (MEPF)
