UNCW and Dell have combined efforts to give you the best deal possible on select laptop computers. Each system recommended by UNCW includes:
- 4 Year COMPLETE CARE Warranty on all parts (except the battery which has a 1 year warranty). The Complete Care warranty not only covers hardware issues but accidental damage as well. This includes spills, surges, breakage and drops.
- On site Warranty Service Center, located in B1NAR1ES in the Fisher University Union.
- A loaner laptop if your system needs extensive work.
Before Ordering
Check with your advisor or department chair to see if an Apple or Dell is recommended for your chosen major.
Ordering Your System
To order a system, visit the UNCW Dell Student Store and click "Shop Now." Select the system you would like, make any upgrades you would like, add any accessories and then check out.
Please note: These systems will contain links to the UNCW Web pages, iPrint drivers, Symantec Antivirus, UNCW wireless configurations and other items to make your laptop even easier to use. This image was completed on July 15. If you ordered a UNCW system prior to July 15, and you are interested in the UNCW image, you can bring your laptop to B1NAR1ES once you arrive on campus and a technician can put the UNCW image on your system.
Software
AntiVirus - Symantec AntiVirus is available to all UNCW students at no cost.
Lo-Jack for your laptop. If your laptop is lost or stolen, this guarantees your laptop is recovered or AbsoluteSoftware will pay up to $1,000 per computer. Regularly $39.99 per year but purchasing at the same time you order your laptop the cost is only $69.00 for 4 years! Just be sure to add Lo-Jack to your cart when ordering your dell system.
Microsoft Office - for the best savings possible, it is recommended you purchase Microsoft Office separately from the laptop. We recommend that you purchase at least the Professional version of Microsoft Office. Microsoft Office is regularly $499.99. Dell's price is $349, but if you order separately from Journey Ed or through Microsoft, the cost is under $80!

Financial Aid
Financial aid is available to help fund the cost of a computer purchase for degree seeking students.To be considered, apply for financial aid and submit a "Computer Expense Form." Applications and forms are available on the Office of Scholarships & Financial Aid Web site.
