On January 7, 2008, ITSD began aggressively rejecting SPAM being delivered to UNCW. To SAFELIST an e-mail address or domain see topic below: "NEVER or ALWAYS identify an e-mail address as SPAM."
If you wish to change your SPAM preferences to anything other than "aggressively reject" you will need to modify your SPAM settings. To do this go to http://spam.uncw.edu and enter your UNCW e-mail username, and then make one choice under each of the questions below:
What do you want to do with your SPAM?
- Reject with a Notification to Sender - Sends a message back to the sender letting them know you did not receive the message as it was seen as SPAM by the system. It goes on to tell them if it is a valid message to resend it or contact you in another way.
- Prepend ?*? on E-mail Subject - This will tag SPAM messages by placing ?*? before the subject and you will receive the messages in your mailbox.
What is your SPAM checking preference?
- Conservative - Low level.
- Normal - Medium level.
- Aggressive - High level. Aggressive will increase the number of messages the system considers SPAM and, again based on your choice above, will reject or "tag" more messages.
Once you click on Update my SPAM settings, you will be asked to enter your password. Enter your UNCW domain/e-mail password and click on the Click to Confirm button. You will then receive a message stating your settings have been changed.
NEVER or ALWAYS identify an e-mail address as SPAM.
If you wish to always block or always allow an e-mail address (or domain), select one of the options at the bottom of the screen, follow the prompts and enter the e-mail address or domain (i.e. @uncw.edu).
You may change your settings as many times as you like. To modify your SPAM settings
