Lumina Theater Reservation Policies

The evening hours and weekend hours in Lumina Theater are primarily reserved for programmers who wish to present films, videos or televised events on our 16’ x 30’ screen. On rare occasions, a high-profile lecture or non-film event may be scheduled during the evening, if the event requires Lumina’s unique audiovisual capabilities and the audience is guaranteed to exceed 100 people.

lumina audienceDuring the weekdays before 5 p.m., Lumina Theater may be requested for large meetings and lectures, if the audience is guaranteed to exceed 100 people and requires the use of the screen. If you wish to schedule a non-film event during a weekday before 5 p.m., please send your request to Campus Life Reservations.

All events in Lumina Theater will be staffed by a Lumina Theater projectionist for the full time of the reservation, with a minimum charge for 3.5 hours of staffing for any film or event lasting two hours or less.  Your projectionist will arrive a minimum of one hour before your event begins and will remain on the clock until a half-hour after the end of your event. Lumina Theater projectionists and the projection manager are members of the Campus Life student staff.

Dates for Lumina Reservations will be made available to programmers according to the following schedule: 

Lumina Tier 1: All established Lumina film series programmers, as well as any governing student body organization planning to program a new film series of three or more dates during the academic year. Reservations will be accepted in August for the following Academic Year.  In August 2011, members of Lumina Tier 1 may start making reservations for the 2012-2013 academic year.  

Lumina Tier 2: Registered Student Organizations (RSOs) and university departments planning to program a new film series of three or more dates during the academic year.  Any governing student body organization, Registered Student Organization or university departments wishing to schedule only one or two film events dates during the academic year. Reservations will be accepted in November for the following Academic Year.  Thus, in November 2011, members of this tier may start making reservations for the 2012-2013 academic year.

Lumina Tier 3: Non-film programmers and external groups for any event. Reservations will be accepted in January for the following Academic Year.  Thus, in January 2011, members of this tier may start making reservations for the 2012-2013 academic year.
