Adams has been dean and professor of nursing at UNC Wilmington since 1994. She has been instrumental in forming partnerships with many health care agencies so that graduates are prepared to meet the needs of diverse populations in dynamic health care environments. During her tenure, the School of Nursing has entered a time of tremendous growth and change that has resulted in increased enrollment, new programs including a Bachelor of Science in Clinical Research and two graduate programs, the use of state-of-the-art clinical simulation, and a focus on addressing the critical need for nurses in North Carolina.
