December 16, 2008 - A young of the year sperm
whale head being prepared for dissection with
collaborators from multiple institutions.
The head of a young of the year sperm whale, that stranded early this summer on June 30th in Avon, NC, was dissected over the course of three days. Collaborators and students from multiple institutions were present for the dissection, including Ph.D student from University of Florida, Ph.D. student from Brown University, and NOAA Beaufort laboratory.
