From the Director

Welcome to the University of North Carolina Wilmington’s Master of Public Administration (MPA) Program’s website.
Our Master of Public Administration (MPA) Program recently celebrated its tenth birthday. During our first decade, we experienced a number of important accomplishments. One of the most important was getting accredited by the National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration (NASPAA) in July 2006, our first year of eligibility. Our enrollments have expanded along with the quality of our students. We now have more than 200 alumni, many of whom work in public and nonprofit organizations in our region. Our faculty are national experts in their respective areas of research and all have experience working in public and nonprofit organizations at various levels of government. We also have the support of an active and engaged Community Advisory Board consisting of a wide range of community leaders from the public and nonprofit sector. We also have a strong focus on regional engagement. Most of our internship placements are in regional public and nonprofit organizations. Faculty and students also work on applied research projects addressing problems facing our community.
Please enjoy your virtual visit of our program. If you have questions about our MPA program or Graduate School requirements or procedures, please feel free to contact me at imperialm@uncw.edu.
Sincerely,

Dr. Mark Imperial
