Cathy Albergo is a leading curricular expert in the field of piano pedagogy and class piano and has contributed numerous articles to professional keyboard journals. Dr. Albergo is currently Professor of Music and Music Department Chair at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, North Carolina. She also served as Department Chair and Professor of Music at William Rainey Harper College in Palatine, Illinois, where she established the Harper Music Academy, which enrolls over three hundred students ranging from pre-school through retirement age. In collaboration with J. Mitzi Kolar and Mark Mrozinski, she co-authored the piano method Celebrate Piano! ® (The Frederick Harris Music Co., Limited). Professor Albergo is a nationally recognized authority on piano instruction and is a frequent lecturer, adjudicator, and workshop clinician. With degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Southern Methodist University, and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Professor Albergo is a past President of the Illinois State Music Teachers Association and has served as the National Certification Chair of the Music Teachers National Association.
