Dr. Michael R. Webb, Assistant Professor, earned his Ph.D. in analytical chemistry at Indiana University. Prior to that, he earned his B.S. at Union College. He has also performed research at the New York State Department of Health’s Wadsworth Center and at Tufts University. Dr. Webb’s research involving analytical instrumentation has produced sixteen articles as well as twenty-one research presentations and over 40 co-authored research presentations. Additionally, four of his projects have produced patent applications, one of which has already been licensed to manufacturers. At UNCW, Dr. Webb’s research will concentrate on improving the cost and portability of analytical instrumentation, as well as optimizing such instruments’ traditional figures of merit. He will also be teaching courses in general chemistry and in analytical chemistry.
