A “branch” or “satellite campus” is a campus of a college or university that is physically detached from the main university or college area. Satellite campuses vary in size and degree of services provided; they act as a "one-stop learning center" to provide educational and library services. Currently, the University of North Carolina Wilmington and Coastal Carolina Community College collaborate to provide quality undergraduate degree programs to the residents of Onslow and neighboring counties. The UNCW Onslow Extension program serves as a satellite campus of the University of North Carolina Wilmington.
