FRINGE BENEFIT RATES

Fringe benefits are the costs encurred by the employing entity that must be considered in a proposal budget. UNCW policy requires that fringe benefits be paid from the same source of funds as the salary. This coverage includes health, safety and employee welfare, i.e., workers' compensation, unemployment insurance, acrued vacation and Federally social security tax.

Rates vary with employment classs:

Permanent UNCW Faculty/Staff: 30%
Temporary Employees: 9%
Students (Undergraduate or Graduate): 9%
