Kevin Whitted School of Basketball Announces Registration for the 2008 Summer Basketball Development Camps
WILMINGTON, NC – May 1, 2008 – Utilizing top coaching expertise, Kevin Whitted of Kevin Whitted Basketball Services is pleased to announce open registration for his 2008 summer basketball camps; a unique and intensive basketball training environment that focuses exclusively on basketball-critical techniques for all skill levels. Two week-long sessions will be held at the Wilmington Family YMCA June 16-20 and August 4-8 from 9a.m – 3 p.m. daily.
Kevin Whitted School of Basketball camp programs offer intensive on-court drill work, game play competitive work, teaches basketball fundamentals, and includes sessions on film study, character, leadership and good citizenship.
“The Kevin Whitted School of Basketball is an excellent program for students looking to gain knowledge from elite coaches and professional athletes,” commented Kevin Whitted, former NBA player and Wilmington Sea Dawg coach. “You can never get too much training. To become legendary, you have to work hard today for it to pay off tomorrow. Our coaching staff can help any player at any stage get there.”
The Kevin Whitted School of Basketball is open to boys and girls between the ages of 8-18. The cost is $140 for YMCA members and $165 for community participants. The camp is limited in size, so early registration is encouraged.

About Kevin Whitted:
Former Dallas Mavericks NBA player, Kevin Whitted found his passion for basketball during his teen years while he attended E.A. Laney High School in Wilmington, NC. During this time, Whitted became the all time leading scorer, beating Michael Jordan’s record in 1990. Shortly thereafter, Kevin attended the University of Tennessee where he was a three-year starter. Following his collegiate career, Kevin went on to play professionally in Europe and for the Dallas Mavericks. Whitted stopped playing basketball in 1999 and switch gears and coached two successful teams: the Atlanta Vision and the Wilmington Sea Dawgs. In addition, Whitted is CEO of Kevin Whitted Basketball Services and the founder of the Kevin Whitted School of Basketball where he focuses on developing young and professional players through individual and specialized training.
