Intercultural Awareness Event - Carolina Panthers Game with International Students
Info: This experience is a great chance for graduate students to interact with international students, and help them understand American culture through football and its traditions. This semester's trip is on Monday, November 2nd to see the Carolina Panthers in Charlotte, NC. The cost is $95/student, which includes the ticket and transportation (charter bus). We will leave from UNCW at 2pm, and the game starts at 8:30pm. NFL games usually last about 3.5 hours, and we will head back to UNCW right after the game. Students can pay with cash or credit card in Friday Annex, Monday-Friday 8-5pm until we are sold out. Tickets are first come first serve. We ONLY have 14 spots left; we would love for graduate students to become engaged with our international students here at UNCW. If you are interested in joining an UNCW Graduate Student Intramural Sports Team please notify Chris Krumm with PERCH at email@example.com ASAP! In the email, please let me know which sport(s) you are interested in.
The following sports are either currently open for registration or will be opening for registration: Innertube Basketball, Racquet Ball (Singles/Doubles), and Dodgeball. All leagues have Men’s, Women’s, and CoRec leagues. We will likely try and fill a CoRec team. You do not need to commit to anything at this time but this will give me a better idea of potential interest. If we have enough people willing to participate, I will setup the team, provide information, and coordinate.
There is a somewhat flexible schedule day wise and the times usually fall later in the evenings, but we will not know exact dates and times until we sign up. I understand that some of you will still run into schedule conflicts and not be able to make all games. Do not let this discourage you from participating. We will work with everyone’s schedules once we gauge the level of interest.
For more information and start dates, please visit http://uncw.edu/campusrec/competitive/intra/index.html
There is also an indoor kickball league hosted by Cape Fear Sports that starts on Oct 15th. Games are held on Thursdays between the hours of 7-10 PM. Cost is $55.00 per player. If you are interested in this, please let me know!
