All three of the participating colleges of engineering have general education requirements similar to the Basic Studies Requirement at UNC Wilmington. These requirements are specified in the each college's undergraduate catalog. Requirements in physical education, english, math, and science are met through courses that are part of the engineering curriculums. Other requirements are met through selection of appropriate humanities and social science electives presented under the links listed below. Foreign language proficiency requirements are also addressed under these links. It is these requirements that Pre-Engineering Transfer students need to follow and not UNCW's Basic Studies requirements. Because all majors at UNCW have a numbers of "free" electives, and the requirements at all of the universities are similar, students who decide to stay at UNCW will not lose any credits if they follow the recommendations shown in the links below. |
