Transfer Requirements

The following refers to transferring from UNCW to one of the four colleges of engineering in North Carolina.  (Information on transferring to UNCW can be found at the UNCW Transfer Admissions web site.)

Transfer admissions procedures and requirements for each school are listed below:

Because of capacity issues in some majors, some departments at NC State also have higher GPA requirements that what is listed below. See this site for the latest information. The following courses are the minimum required for transfer:

NCSU also requires a 2.5 GPA in the last two calculus courses taken including any calculus or differential equations course in progress at the time you apply.

For NCSU transfer procedures, see the Director at least one semester before you intend apply. Apply online at the NCSU Admissions. For fall entrance, apply in December. For spring entrance, apply in late summer. International students need to apply several months earlier than these recommendations. Be sure to read this page for more information on applying to NCSU.

Students who previously attended one of the engineering colleges will have to apply for readmission instead of transfer.  All readmission policies will apply.

Transcripts: For any university to which you apply, you will need to send transcripts for every college and community college, including UNCW, you've attended regardless of how few courses you might have taken at a college. UNCW does not "automatically" issue transcripts for you just because you are in this program. This is especially important if your application is "pending" at NCSU. On the UNCW transcipt request form available online or from the Registrar's office, you can specify that a transcript be sent at the end of the semester. This is convenient if one is in their last semester at UNCW.
