The Swain Center has relationships with Ed2Go and VESi, two well-regarded online educators to provide convenient and affordable learning opportunities.
Ed2Go provides students with courses that can meet job requirements or lead to personal growth in a convenient and self-paced way. The Ed2Go course delivery system has been used at UNCW since 2002 for its online, non-credit short courses. These six-week courses can serve as an introduction to higher education and connect students to the university without requiring registering as a for-credit student.
Please note: the link above will take you to the Ed2Go site where you can select your course and register. You will then be directed to a UNCW site to provide payment. Successful completion of these courses qualifies the student for CEUs only. Courses do not qualify for academic credit from UNCW.
UNCW Swain Center, in partnership with Ed2Go, offers online open enrollment programs designed to provide the skills necessary to acquire professional level positions for many in-demand occupations. The certificate programs are designed by a team of professionals from each respective field, providing you with effective web-based learning programs. Instructors/mentors are actively involved in your online learning experience, responding to questions or concerns, as well as encouraging and motivating you to success.

Virtual Education Software, Inc. provides self-paced professional development courses for teachers with an emphasis on student behavior. Qualifying for continuing education units (CEUs) is the key driver for student enrollment. The Swain Center has worked with VESi since 2007 in conjunction with UNCW’s Watson College of Education. The Top 5 VESi courses for Education (2007-10) were Reading Fundamentals, Behavior is Language, Autism & Asperger's Disorder, Learning Disabilities, and Attention Deficit Disorder. Please note: the VESi link above will take you to a UNCW payment site where you can view the courses and provide payment. Once received, we will notify VESi which will complete the registration process.Successful completion of these courses qualifies the student for CEUs only.
