UNCW Alumna at the 2012 ATRA Conference in Phoenix, AZ: Kaylee McGuire, CTRS, Recreational Therapist and Child Life Specialist at Voorhees Pediatric Facility; and Nina Bernardo, CTRS, Coordinator, Arizona Disabled Sports.

UNCW Alumna, Kaylee McGuire receiving the ATRA Chapter Affiliate Award for the New Jersey/Eastern Pennsylvania Therapeutic Recreation Association, at the 2012 ATRA Conference.
- Eric Ivancich, 2008 UNCW graduate with a BA in Exercise Science, passed his physical therapy licensure exam and landed a job in an outpatient orthopedic clinic in New Jersey.
- Chris Helms has been named as superintendent of Carolina Beach State Park in New
Hanover County, a part of the N.C. Division of Parks and Recreation. Chris is a
1991 graduate of UNCW with a bachelor's degree in parks and recreation
management. He served one year as a seasonal ranger at Ft. Macon State Park
before being hired as a ranger at Jones Lake State Park in 1991, and he joined
the staff at Weymouth Woods State Nature preserve in 1997. As a superintendent,
Chris will serve as the chief of operations and administration with
responsibilities for staffing, training, law enforcement, visitor services,
natural resource protection and environmental education.
- Leah Cox, 2009 UNCW graduate with a BA in Recreation Therapy, is currently attending graduate school at UNC-Chapel Hill working on a Masters in Rehabilitation Counseling and Psychology.
