There's A Hair In My Dirt

By Gary Larson

This hilarious story takes place only a few inches underground where a family of earthworms lives.  One evening during dinner, Junior worm discovers a hair in his dinner of dirt.  Junior feels that this is the last straw.  Life as an earthworm is miserable.  Junior's father disagrees and commences to tell his son a story full of environmental references that he hopes will change his son's attitude.  Eventually, Junior comes to appreciate his role in the environmental cycle of life.

Read this book and you'll discover how the author uses SCIENCE to make the story more interesting and exciting:

  *Study soil composition

  *Find out about forest ecology

  *Discover the interconnectedness

    of all living things
