  • Getsmarter.org This site features a unique learning experience. Students can take quizzes, do research and follow links to other sites. This site is produced by the Council on Competitiveness to stimulate improvements in K-12 math and science.

  • The MacTutor History of Mathematics Archive from the University of St. Andrews, Scotland
  • Math Central from the University of Regina, Canada. A resource for teachers and students.
  • Math Counts MATH COUNTS is a nationwide coaching and competition program for middle school students. Students participate as "mathletes" in groups at school, then possibly in state and national competitions. Students can try the problem of the week or math challenge. Teachers will find coaching tips, a support forum, a quarterly newsletter, and can request the free school kit.

  • Math Projects for Science Fairs To date there have not been a lot of mathematics projects in the science fairs and the authors believe that one reason for this might be that it is not at all clear what a mathematics project might involve. To help shed some light on this problem the authors have prepared a list of possible projects and many references on topics that could make exciting and interesting projects.

MathNerds does not supply answers to homework, take home tests and the like; rather, we provide hints, suggestions, and references to help our clients understand and solve their mathematical problems.

  • MEGA-Mathematics The MegaMath project is intended to bring unusual and important mathematical ideas to elementary school classrooms so that young people and their teachers can think about them together.
  • National Council of Teachers of Mathematics
  • National Library of Virtual Manipulatives This is a growing library of interactive, web-based virtual manipulatives or concept tutorials, mostly in the form of Java applets. The emphasis is on K-8 for mathematics instruction. The topics include number and operations, algebra, geometry, measurement, and data analysis and probability. The Virtual manipulatives are related to the NCTM standards for each age group. Each activity includes instructions, the related NCTM standard, and a detailed lesson plan.

Since 1993, the Anheuser-Busch Adventure Parks have recognized the outstanding efforts of K-12 students and teachers across the country who are working at the grassroots level to protect and preserve the environment. The "Sea World/Busch Gardens/Fujifilm Environmental Excellence Awards" provides school and community groups with a monetary award, national recognition and some well-deserved fun at one of their parks.

  • PreK-12 Engineering. This website is a free resource for educators and administrators who are looking to integrate engineering concepts and activities into pre-k through twelfth grade classrooms. The activities available on the site are linked to the new Massachusetts Science and Technology/Engineering Curriculum Frameworks. Many of the standards in these frameworks are closely related to the nationally recommended standards for technological literacy by the International Technology Education Association (ITEA.)
