Photo of Public Sociology students at the 2nd UNCW Farmers' Market April 2008.  Public Sociology helped organize the Farmers' Market as part of the BUY LOCAL campaign of the Southeastern North Carolina Food Systems Program.  Public Sociology students have created the UNCW S.E.L.F. (Students Eating Local Foods) campus organization which co-sponsored the Farmers' Market.

Public Sociology students, Morgan Grauman, Mary Brady Williams and Mary Wall were selected to represent UNCW at the Colonial Academic Alliance Undergraduate Research Conference in Boston presenting their research, "Food Security as a Social Justice Issue Among Low Income Residents in Wilmington, NC".  Morgan Grauman presented the research team's findings in Boston April 4, 2008.
