Working (specifically wage labor), industry, corporations, organizations, the willingness of workers to consent to low pay under unsafe conditions.

Purpose for Obtaining an M.A.

My main goal for attending graduate school and obtaining my M.A. is to eventually pursue a Ph.D. in work, industry and organizations at NC Stat. With my Ph.D. I hope to find employment as a university professor. Although, after obtaining my M.A., I may become an instructor at the community college level while I work on my Ph.D.

To be able to start out at a higher position when working for the Federal Bureau Investigation. I would also like to become an FBI Agent and having a higher degree, or specialized skill, makes you more competitive.

My purpose is to pursue my passion to affect public policy in a positive way by acquiring the skills to research and evaluate strategies implemented for local, national, and international safety. In the future, I hope to ensure that policies intended to keep us safe do so at the least possible risk to civil and human rights at home and abroad.

To work in a career field such as the FBI, DEA, ETF, Prison System, etc. The US has some of the highest crime rates in the world and I believe the highest percentage of it’s population in prison. I also might enjoy being in a position that would allow me to influence legislature regarding criminals and how society handles them.

I would like to obtain my Ph.D. in sociology.  An M.A. is a necessary step for this endeavor.  Also, I really can't imagine myself working outside of sociological pursuits.  It's what I love doing.
