Multicultural Student Organizations

Asian Student Association: Its purpose is to support and be the voice for the political, cultural, and social interests for students of Asian heritage at UNCW.

Black Student Union (BSU): Creates unity and strength among students of African American descent. It provides a positive influence on a predominately white campus and serves as an outlet for black students to spotlight their talents and announce events designated for the black and minority population.

Brazuka - The Brazillian Club: Brazuka exists in order to provide educational activities and exposure of Brazilian culture to the university and to the community at large.

Gospel Choir Voices of Praise: Ministers to UNCW and the Wilmington community through song.

Indian Culture Association: ICA serves to unite students of Indian descent and help create social opportunities to gather in an environment that promotes Indian culture and traditions.

International Student Organization: Promotes cultural understanding within the UNCW community by serving as a support group for UNCW international students and acting as a social network for American students and international students.

Mi Gente at UNCW: Formerly the Organization of Latin American Students this is a newly active group. Mi Gente @ UNCW exists to educate and promote the UNCW campus about the Hispanic community in an effort to promote diversity.

Muslim Students' Association: The aim and purpose of the Association is to serve the best interest of Islam and of the Muslims at UNCW.

National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP): Protects and promotes the welfare of minority students at UNCW.

PRIDE (People Recognizing Individual Difference Exist): Provides educational, political, historical, social support programs and resources for gays, lesbians, bisexuals, transgender, and allied students, faculty, and the university community.

SALINA for Women: Strives to connect females with diverse backgrounds and personal identities including African Americans, Latinos, International, Native American, Asians, and LGBTQI students. Men are encouraged to join SALINA as this organization strives to raise awareness and build bridges across all facets of diversity.
