2009 Appreciation Day Information

Immediately after the photo we will begin our Student Organization Leadership Awards Presentation
Win Beach Gear, Picnic Prize Packs, UNCW apparel and much more!
All members of registered student organizations, holding VIP Passes, are welcome to attend. We’ll have FREE FOOD and opportunities to win some great prizes including beach chairs, UNCW novelties, apparel and much more! We will also be showing the Student Organization Slide Show that you all are hopefully contributing pictures for (send them to activities@uncw.edu). At 12:15pm we will be taking the annual Student Leader Photo and will then be presenting 6 of the 12 SO Leadership Awards following the photo so be sure to come out!
All members of your student organizations are welcome to attend BUT they will need to have a VIP Pass in hand in order to gain entry to the event. VIP Passes are available for pick-up in the Involvement Center at the front desk (just ask the Involvement Specialist for assistance). Please send ONE representative to pick up the necessary number of passes for your organization. We ask that you only request the minimum number of passes that you feel is necessary to cover all those members who are interested in attending; if additional passes are needed your representative may come back for more.
Some important notes about this event:
- At 12:15pm we will be taking the annual Student Leader Photo. We ask that all student organization leaders (i.e. executive board members, officers, and committed general members) be present at this time to participate.
- Immediately following the photo (around 12:30pm) we will begin the presentation of six of our Student Organization Leadership Awards, so if your student organization was nominated for an award, be sure to be there for the announcement of this year’s winners! Note: 6 of the 12 awards will be presented to the winners at the Student Organization Appreciation Day on Thursday, April 16th from 11:30am-1:30pm. Also at this event, the finalists for the remaining 6 Student Organization Leadership Awards and the SGA Scholarship will be announced. Winners for these last 6 awards will be announced at the annual Cornerstone Awards Banquet on Wednesday, April 22nd (invitation only). Be sure to come out and support your fellow organizations and your student leaders!
The Photo
ALL student organization leaders (not just officers) are invited to come out and be in the annual student leader photo. The 2005 picture was taken on Thursday, April 14 in the University Union.

The Student Leader Photo has been an annual Spring Semester tradition, but in April 2004 we expanded the tradition into an entire day to thank our student organization leaders.
