The Department of Campus Life Mission Statement
The Department of Campus Life is at the heart of UNCW campus, providing resources, support services, and educational and social programs that are student-driven and accessible to the campus and regional communities.
We hold the following goals to support this mission:
- To build community and foster tradition.
- To create and maintain student-oriented facilities that foster interaction throughout the community, and that are adaptable, aesthetically enhanced, well equipped, safe, sustainable and accessible.
- To provide user-friendly, high-quality support services at reasonable cost, administered by student and professional staff.
- To use resources efficiently; to continuously plan, evaluate, and modify our services and programs to meet the changing needs of our customers; to preserve the long-term financial stability necessary to continue being an effective provider of choice.
- To provide social, recreational, cognitive, spiritual, and cultural programs designed to develop, educate and enlighten the diverse UNCW community, planned and produced primarily by students.
- To cultivate a climate of understanding in which individuals and groups of diverse beliefs and values may feel accepted, nurtured and able to thrive.
The Role of the College Union
