Information Center Attendant
The Information Center Attendant manages the daily operations of the Information Desk which is located in the University Union. This includes monetary transactions and dissemination of information, providing polite, genuine, effective and efficient customer service to those needing assistance, whether it is over the phone, walk-up or email.
Starting Pay Rate: $5.50/hour
The Information Desk Attendant will become proficient in the following areas by conscientiously completing their duties:

Specific Responsibilities
Serve as information source for the UNCW campus as well as the general public regarding information about the University Union and Warwick Center operating hours, daily events, and services including fax, courtesy phones, International Id's, magazine/newspaper check out, locker rental, vending refunds, security of lost and found, key access and ticket sales(Kenan, Trask, Men's basketball tickets, discounted movie tickets, special event tickets.)
General Expectations
Remain aware of all policy and procedural guidelines and remain current with all changes to these guidelines.
Notify Building Manger with any request regarding the facility or room set-ups for an event that is currently in progress.
Perform proper Opening, Closing and Shift Change procedures as required to insure accuracy of shift transactions. This includes completion of shift change audits, daily cash register audits, and cash register closing account records.
Read and make pertinent entries into the Information Center Daily Log. This allows for communication between you and other co-workers.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of Information Desk.
Attend all scheduled training sessions and meetings.
Wear proper attire including vest or shirt with nametag.
Maintain a sound and stable academic record with a recommended GPA of 2.0 or greater
General working knowledge of computer and software programs
Employee must be a self-motivated individual who exhibits a pleasant, caring and helpful attitude toward others and is diligent in searching for information which may be difficult to find.
