Even if no one close to you has ever been touched by relationship abuse, sexual assault or stalking, you may be part of the great majority who are concerned about violence and its victims. More importantly, you may also be part of the somewhat smaller group who actively wants to help others to find the support and help they need if they are threatened or assaulted. There are many others who feel as you do—those who care.
- If you want to gain information in order to help others, the CARE office has a special place for you. We are initiating specific trainings for students and faculty/staff who can be resources for others.
- Our goal is to collaborate with student and staff groups, as well as individuals, to let others know about help available through university resources and in the wider community.
- These practical, informative sessions will include information from University Police, Office of the Dean of Students, and other offices in collaboration with the CARE office.
- If you are a member of a group interested in more information about training to equip you and your peers or staff to help others to connect to safety resources on and off campus, call 962-CARE.
- If you are an individual who wants to be trained to help others get the help they need, call 962-CARE.
- Thank you for your concern for others who experience threat or violence. You also may want to read the sections for Friends, Partners, Parents or Faculty/Staff.
