Sexual Assault and Relationship Violence are considered by many to be a women's issue. That is quite untrue. Many men are profoundly affected by issues of violence and abuse.
Men can be survivors- some estimates place men's lifetime incidence of some type of sexual abuse or violence at 1 in 6. C.A.R.E. is a non-judgmental place any man or woman survivor.
Men can be affected by someone close to them being assaulted or in an abusive relationship. 1 in 4 women is sexually assaulted in her lifetime and those women include our friends, girlfriends, sisters, and mothers.
Men are pivotal in changing our society into one in which violence and abuse will not be tolerate. UNCW men can get involved in the C.A.R.E. peer educators, the White Ribbon Campaign, or our annual Men's Summit on Leadership, Masculinity, and Health
