The CARE peer educators is a group of UNCW students whose goal is to reduce the risk of sexual assault and sexual harassment in the hopes of elimination. This goal is realized through interactive presentations, awareness campaigns and programs that reach out to University students, high school students and the Wilmington community. This group started as UNCW’s student-led Reach Out! program in 1999. Since then, it has continued to bring female and male students together who are dedicated to taking an active approach to ending violence against women and men.

I’m a CARE peer educator because I strongly support the cause that CARE stands for. I believe it is highly important to educate the UNCW campus about healthy relationships and what to do if they know a victim of violence. I enjoy helping plan campus programs and have actually learned a lot myself by participating in CARE. I look forward to what CARE will do next year and I am excited to take part in it!

I'm a CARE Peer Educator because the issues we deal with are extremely emotional and I am passionate about all of them. Peers are the best way to communicate with the college campus and hopefully the we do will enlighten others about things they were not aware of before.

I'm a CARE Peer Educator because I am passionate about education and people in need. Those who are abused and those who are mistreated in their relationships are in need. They, along with their peers, can be educated to know how we can all make a difference. I believe that programming and education about these things, which can save a life or a relationship, is well worth the time and effort.
