Promotion Specialists
The Promotion Specialists are a team of outgoing students who, after thorough training, become representatives of The Career Center assisting through presentations/workshops, marketing and outreach to their fellow students. This leadership opportunity is designed for students who have the desire to strengthen their skills in order to develop a strong foundation for future professional goals.
Promotion Specialists:
- Develop, coordinate, and conduct presentations for clubs, organizations, and classrooms.
- Network with campus offices and organizations to promote Career Services.
- Professionally represent The Career Center at on-campus events.
- Assist Career Counselors with event planning and marketing of events/workshops.
- Demonstrate the following skills: strong public speaking skills, interpersonal communication, organizational skills, professionalism, and a positive, motivated, and outgoing attitude.
Career Specialists
Career Specialists assist the office of The Career Center to run smoothly and efficiently. They:
- Assess the needs of students to direct them to proper services and suggest ways that The Career Center could benefit them.
- Help with filing, answering phones, light computer work, and other general office/clerical work.
- Assist with job fairs, workshops, and marketing events.
- Serve as a representative of The Career Center to students, faculty/staff, and employers.
- Demonstrate the following skills: strong work ethic, customer service, interpersonal communication, positive attitude, professionalism, and organizational skills
