When staffing resources allow, the UNCW Counseling Center offers training opportunities for Masters level students in Counseling, Clinical Social Work and Psychology. We offer opportunities for an advanced practicum and/or an externship. Each of these opportunities will be described in more detail below.
The training programs are competitive and we may provide opportunities for 1-2 students per semester. These programs are intensive and require a major commitment of your time. Students who successfully complete a program will have greater knowledge and experience in addressing the mental health needs of the college student population.
