The UNCW Counseling Center may be able to offer a
practicum experience to advanced graduate students in Counseling, Clinical
Social Work or Psychology. This involves a one to two semester
commitment and requires approximately 15 -20 hours per week of your
time. An option to extend into the next semester may be negotiated.
Trainees will have a variety of opportunities and requirements in their practicum. This will include assigned readings, an orientation to reception and scheduling, and supervised practice of intake, assessment, consultation, counseling, outreach, psycho-education and testing. The experience is an opportunity to begin to clarify one's professional identity, and particularly with a view towards training future professionals for counseling in higher education settings.
