What is College Alc?
CollegeAlc is a comprehensive on-line alcohol education program that combines the latest research on college student drinking together with a technologically advanced format. The course is a combination of alcohol education, guided reflection, and personalized feedback. The course consists of 5 units with a quiz at the end of each unit. It should take a few hours to complete. CollegeAlc was developed with funds from the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (N.I.A.A.A.) and has been rigorously evaluated.How will my student know about College Alc?
In addition to hearing about it at New Student Orientation, your student will receive a postcard in the mail in June with explicit instructions on how to complete the College Alc program. Your student can also access the directions here on our website.What if my student doesn't plan to drink at college?
The information in College Alc leads students on a critical examination on the role and impact of alcohol on our culture and provides safety information that any student will benefit from.What if my student will not have access to the internet during the summer?
We are asking students to complete this prior to September 1, 2005. Therefore, if your student will not have internet access this summer, he or she can complete the program upon arrival.College Alc is presented in a format that will work for both high speed and low speed internet connections.
