Interested in Statistics about Substance Abuse at UNCW?

U.N.C.W. CROSSROADS conducts annual surveys of the student population and has begun a biannual faculty/staff survey to measure faculty/staff beliefs about use and prevention efforts. Below, you will find some key statistics that may be of interest. Extensive data and more information can be obtained by contacting CROSSROADS at 962-4136.

'N the Know: Do most students really have 0 to 5 when they party?

You may have wondered about the CROSSROADS posters and merchandise that says, "Most students have 0 to 5 when they party." Where does that data come from? CROSSROADS gathers this data in our annual surveys with representative sample of UNCW students.

Our 2003 survey, which over 1300 students filled out, continues to show that the 0 to 5 message is true- 72% of students report drinking 5 drinks or less on average when they go out. The breakdown is below:
