The basic philosophy and approach toward discipline at UNCW is one of education, focusing on student learning through individual growth and accountability of behavior. The disciplinary procedures and sanctions for violation of rules and regulations are designed for guidance or correction of behavior and to protect the rights of other students within the university community, rather than for punishment. Students in violation of university policies may have an administrative hearing or an appearance before a peer judicial board. Students who have questions about policy violations or the judicial process are encouraged to stop by the Office of the Dean of Students. For more detailed information, please review the Code of Student Life . You can also view the Know The Code brochure by clicking here . Copies of the most recent version of the Code of Student Life can be obtained from the literature rack in the Office of the Dean of Students in Modular Unit #3 in Lot E (Between the Fisher Student Center and Westside Hall).
