Returning Student Room Selection Sign-up Process 2009-2010

It’s the time of year to be thinking about 2009–10 housing plans.

In order to be eligible for on-campus housing, students must complete a housing contract and pay a $105 non-refundable housing contract fee, either by check or cash in the Housing office or you by credit card online.

The contract and fee must be turned in to the Office of Housing and Residence Life at least 10 calendar days prior to the student’s sign-up date. For example, if a student lives in Seahawk Landing and wants to keep the same room, he/she must turn in the contract and fee no later than Friday, Jan. 16.

Please note that in order to be selected (“pulled in”) as a roommate by another student, a student must turn in contract and fee 10 calendar days prior to their anticipated pull-in date.  If a student is being pulled in as a roommate, they don’t have to go online. To pull in a roommate, enter his or her UNCW user ID in all caps, both the Login ID and password online fields (a UNCW user ID is a student’s e-mail address minus the @uncw.edu).

After the contract and fee are submitted, students must go online to SeaPort to complete the sign-up process to retain or choose a room. Simply remitting contract and fee does not guarantee a reclaim of bed space. You must go online.

The returning student sign-up process will begin at 9 a.m. on the first dates and end at 4 p.m. on the ending dates specified.

Although the system will remain open 24 hours during the dates listed, UNCW HRL can only guarantee system operation and student assistance between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Computers are available for sign-up in the HRL office If students experience any troubles or have questions, HRL highly suggests coming into the office for assistance.

Students can also find training materials on the housing website. Simply go to the housing website homepage and under news and events, click on “Returning Student Room Selection Training Materials.” There students will find presentations on returning student sign-up processes.

Students now living on campus who wish to remain on-campus residents next year should look over the following sign-up schedule closely. Once a selection is made, that selection is final:
