Graduate Assistant for Technology and Communications

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Overall responsibility
Assist in the setup and maintenance of all Housing and Residence Life technology on the UNCW campus and assist in using those tools to market to the UNCW community.

Key areas of responsibility

  • File server administration
  • Client services support for Housing and Residence Life
  • Installation of hardware and software
  • System administration of secondary data systems (RMS, Timeclock Plus, Easylobby)
  • Assist with Sharepoint administration
  • Development of online training materials for HRL
  • Distribution and design of various promotional and informational materials
  • Perform fixed asset inventories
  • Maintenance of HRL Web site
  • Other tasks that may arise related to communications

Consults with

  • Housing and Residence Life Undergraduate, Graduate, and professional staff
  • Housing and Residence Life Student Employees
  • Other university departments
  • Resident students and their parents

Term of employment
25 hours a week during academic year and up to 35 hours a week during summer.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree and current enrollment in the UNCW graduate school
  • Strong sense of customer service
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds
  • Proficient in networked computing environment
  • Thorough knowledge of Windows and Mac operating systems
  • Must maintain a3.0 grade point average to remain employed. A GPA below 3.0 may result in a probationary period of employment
