Come in for your pre-placement interview. 

MARCH

Return your placement acceptance form.  It is a great idea to try to learn as much as possible about the city and school you are going to be traveling to. 

APRIL

Now is the time to make your travel arrangements.  This may seem rather early, but the best deals can be found now!

Register for classes at your host university. UNCW Transient Study Forms should be completed with your academic advisor at this time.

MAY

Finalize all travel plans.
If you are planning to live off-campus, try your best to arrange your housing plans now.

JUNE - JULY

Pay all bills on time!  Since you will be participating in a Plan B exchange, your tuition will be paid to UNCW.  However, you need to be sure you have paid any other bills such as housing, meal plans, fees, etc. to your host school.  Be sure that all of this is done on time so that you don't have any complications.
Check SeaNet often to be sure that you don't owe anything or have any holds on your account.  If is a good idea to keep a check through your host school.  Most schools use a system very similar to ours. 

AUGUST

Confirm your flights two days prior to your departure date.
Get packing!  Have you considered what you should pack for your new city's weather?  Check it out now by visiting weather.com.
Get in contact with your host school and introduce yourself to the NSE coordinator.

SEPTEMBER

Be sure that your host school sends verification of enrollment to UNCW.

OCTOBER

Update us on your exchange progress!  Send pictures from your school to let us know all the fun you’re having.
Contact your academic advisor for UNCW registration information.  You must do this in order to obtain your registration time and PIN number.

NOVEMBER

If returning to UNCW for the spring semester, obtain housing application and contract.
Register for spring classes.

DECEMBER

All NSE students must send transcripts to home school before leaving their campus for break.
PLEASE HAVE YOU OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS SENT BACK TO UNCW!!
PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU HAVE PAID ALL OF YOUR FINANCIAL OBLIGATIONS TO YOUR HOME AND HOST SCHOOLS!

JANUARY

Contact NSE host coordinator.  Spring exchange students need to contact home coordinator to forward their personal host school contact information.  Make sure host school coordinator sends verification of enrollment.
Complete and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid.

FEBRUARY

Contact Housing Office for housing application and contract if on-campus housing is desired for the following fall.
Make your travel arrangements for your returning trip.  Use the links above to find great discount airfare!
