UNCW KIDS
Make a difference in the life of a local child. Through the UNCW Kids program, students tutor and mentor children once a week for an hour and a half. Tutoring locations include two elementary school sites in addition to the on-campus site. No experience is required – just a good attitude, patience and a desire to have fun! AMERICAN RED CROSS BLOOD DRIVES
Give the gift of life at our periodic blood drives sponsored by the American Red Cross. Volunteers & Donors are needed. Purchase Thanksgiving groceries for an area family. Student organizations, university departments and other groups can co-sponsor a family. The approximate cost is $50 per family. Groups are encouraged to participate.
ANGEL TREE
Make the holidays brighter for a local youth by purchasing holiday presents. Student organizations, university departments and other groups can co-sponsor a youth. The approximate cost is $50 per child. Groups are encouraged to participate.
WOODLOT PROJECT
Warm the hearts and homes of families in the community by chopping and loading firewood for heat and/or cooking during the winter months. For more information, contact CLES at (910) 962-3877
WOMEN'S DAY SURGE
Serve an area non-profit organization that benefits women in honor of Women’s History Month.
SENIOR CITIZEN SURGE
Brighten the day of an area senior citizen by providing one-on-one companionship on a Saturday afternoon.

HALLOWEEN CARNIVAL
Don your costume and help provide a safe, fun Halloween event for children in the community. Volunteer registration is required in advance.

HUNGER and HOMELESSNESS AWARENESS WEEK
Did you know that approximately 3.5 million people, including 1.3 million children, are likely to be homeless in any given year? (Source: Urban Institute 2000). Learn more about issues surrounding hunger and homelessness and how you can help serve this population at our annual Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week in November. Events include the Faces of Homelessness Panel, the Canned Food Drive and the Hunger Banquet.
