The overall goal of the Counseling Center is to assist students in maximizing their success at UNCW and in life. The center's staff provides confidential counseling services to help students build a more satisfying and successful college experience. Services include individual and group counseling for personal, relationship, or substance abuse concerns. In addition, staff members provide outreach and consultation services on a broad range of topics for students, faculty, staff and the university community.

Disability Services is the designated office that provides services to students with disabilities. There are many services and resources available to currently enrolled students who register with the office.

Have a question and don't know where to start? Start with the Office of the Dean of Students. The Office of the Dean of Students is committed to student growth and self-responsibility by serving as student advocates and as a central resource for addressing student issues and concerns. Through collaboration with the university and Wilmington community, we provide assistance to all students, faculty and staff through policy clarification, conflict resolution, grievance procedures, confidential consultations and crisis management.

Student Health Services

The mission of the UNCW Student Health Services (SHS) is to provide student-centered, affordable, quality health and preventive services to the students of our university. The Student Health Center offers walk-in sick care, immunizations, allergy injections, physicals, preventive education, and more. The Pharmacy fill prescriptions and sells over-the-counter medications.

Wilmington Area Resources

Local VFW post (Manley-Reese VFW Post 2573): convenient to the University at 2722 -B Carolina Beach Rd., Wilmington NC 28412 (there is a jet in the front yard).

Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter 885. The Vietnam Veterans of America is the only veterans organization officially chartered by Congress and their motto is "Never again will one generation of veterans be abandoned by another." They are there to assist any veteran, member or not, no matter when or where they served.

Military Education Scholarship Program
VAMortgageCenter.com is proud to now offer five biyearly $1,500 scholarships in conjunction with our Military Education Scholarship Program. The process and purpose is simple - many college students currently struggle to meet the financial requirements of pursuing their education, even with the help of financial aid and other scholarship programs. Our scholarships are awarded each year in May and November.

Scholarship Opportunities - Apply Early!
The Fund for Veterans Education will provide scholarships up to $1,000,000 in the 2009-2010 academic to help meet the financial obligations of veterans from all branches of the United States Armed Forces who served in Afghanistan or Iraq since September 11, 2001 and who are now enrolled in college or vocational-technical school.
