Frequently Asked Questions


1. Do you test on Saturdays or evenings?

Only paper-based tests, for example Praxis II, PCAT, LSAT, are given on Saturdays.  For all computer-based tests, ACT, and proctored exams our office is open from 8am-5pm Monday-Friday. Summer hours occur from approximately the first week in May to the second week in August: Monday through Thursday 7:30am - 5pm and Friday 7:30am to 11:30am.


2. I've lost my drivers license - will my student ID work for identification?

No, you must present a valid drivers license, passport or military ID. A second ID can be your student ID


3. What is CLEP?

CLEP is the College Level Examination Program that allows you to take an exam and earn college credit. Learn more by clicking here.


4. What hours do you administer the CLEP and how much does it cost?

CLEP is offered M-F at 9:00am, 11:00am, and 1:00pm. You must pre-register and pay a $20 fee and $70 on the day of the test.

 

5. What is MAT?

MAT is the Miller Analogies Test.  Some graduate masters programs accept scores from this test in lieu of scores from the GRE.

6. What hours do you administer the MAT and how much does it cost?

The MAT is offered M-F at 9:00am, 11:00am, and 1:00pm and 3:00pm. You must pre-register and pay a $75 fee to reserve a spot.

 

7. When is Praxis II given?

Praxis is given on set dates according to ETS. It is best to go that website for information: www.ets.org/praxis


8. What is the nursing school entrance test and how much does it cost?

The new nursing school exam is the Health Education Systems, Inc. (HESI). This exam is offered Monday through Friday at 9:00am and 1:00pm.  You must pre-register and the cost is $75.


9 . How is the Praxis I administered?

At UNCW Praxis I tests are all computer-based. It costs $130 to take the Praxis Combined, or $160 to take the 3 sections on different days. Click here to learn more about the pricing for Praxis exams.


10 . Do you offer test preparation sessions?
