Freshman/Parent Orientation Tentative Schedule

 

Tentative Student Schedule for June:

All of the programs for student orientation are required. You will be busy from 7:45 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on the first day and 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on day two. Class registration is at the end of day 2 and we cannot guarantee you will be done until 5:00 p.m.

 

Early Arrival (optional with a $15 per person fee)

  • 8 p.m. - 9 p.m. Check In (Graham/Hewlett Residence Hall)
  • 9:15 p.m.  Activities for students begin (Graham/Hewlett Great Room)

 

Day 1  (7:45 a.m. - 9 p.m.)

  • Check-In (7:45 a.m.- 8:30 a.m.) -- Graham/Hewlett Residence Hall
  • Welcome
  • Life at UNCW - Academics, Community & Responsibility
  • Meet with your orientation lader in small groups to learn more about campus life
  • Student Development Services panel
  • ABCs:  Academics, Basic Studies, and Classroom Expectations
  • Living Off-Campus or Living On-Campus
  • Math placement test
  • Campus Life Involvement
  • Carnival on the Commons

 

Day 2  (8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.)

  • Music theory placement exam (music majors only)
  • Music Ensembles Information Meeting
  • Academic Preview
  • Student Services
  • Technology Services
  • Advising and registration
  • Check-out
