Important Information for Graduates!

Ticket Policy
Each graduate will receive 6 tickets for graduation. All guests, including infants, are required to have a ticket. Tickets will be issued to graduates in the UNCW Bookstore. Tickets will only be issued to graduates after they present proper photo identification. Tickets from one ceremony will not be able to be used at another. Tickets will not be mailed and lost tickets will not be replaced. For graduation information for the Onslow County Extension Program, please call 910-455-2310 or 910-451-5266.

Any tickets not picked up prior to 5 p.m. on Friday, May 9 will be forfeited and released to the general ticket office. These extra tickets will be available at the Trask Coliseum ticket window according to the table below. All tickets will be distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Regalia

Graduation candidates are provided caps, gowns, distinction cords and master’s degree hoods at no additional charge. Caps, gowns and master’s degree hoods are available for pick up at the UNCW Bookstore.

Registration and sizing for cap and gown will take place at the Seahawk Salute Wednesday, March 26 and Thursday, March 27 in the bookstore's second level. All items are yours to keep after commencement. Any questions regarding regalia pick up should be directed to the UNCW Bookstore at 910.962.3188.

Distinctions & Honors
Degree with Distinction- Students who earn a minimum of a 3.5 GPA on all course work attempted, including transfer courses will receive a degree with distinction.

With Honors In- Students who successfully completed the Honors Program in their major will graduate “With Honors In” the discipline in which their special work was undertaken.

Academic distinction cords will be distributed to students at their departmental
events (if on Friday) or on Saturday in Hanover Gym prior to their commencement ceremony.

Name Cards
A name card will accompany the packet of tickets distributed to each graduate by the UNCW Bookstore. This name card is a very important tool for the graduation ceremony and will be used to announce the name of the graduate. It should be kept and brought to commencement on May 10, 2008.

Announcements
Non-personalized announcements can be purchased at the UNCW Bookstore at any time prior to commencement. The bookstore is open Mon. through Thurs. 7:30 a.m. - 7 p.m., Fri. 7:30 a.m. - 5 p.m., and Sat. 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. Please visit the UNCW Bookstore Web site at uncw.bkstore.com.
